Our Reference Architecture

Our AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery (DRS) architecture securely replicates production workloads from an on-premises environment into a dedicated Disaster Recovery (DR) region in AWS. AWS Replication Agents installed on source servers continuously replicate block-level data from local disks, transmitting compressed and encrypted data to AWS through a secure Site-to-Site VPN connection.
Within the AWS DR region, lightweight replication servers in the staging area subnet receive and store the replicated data on staging EBS volumes. When recovery is initiated, AWS DRS automatically launches recovery instances in the target subnet, attaching the replicated volumes based on predefined recovery configurations.
This architecture enables secure connectivity between on-premises infrastructure and AWS while providing a structured environment for workload recovery in the DR region.
